Our Story

M.A.R.B.L.E became a 501c3 tax deductible charity in July of 2018.

The name M.A.R.B.L.E stands for "miracles are real because love exists". This name was created in the early 2000's when our founder, Paeten, moved away from her grandparents in Nevada, Missouri. Every time Paeten would visit her grandmother she would hide marbles for her to find and told her that every time she found one it was Paeten's way of saying "I love you".

In June of 2017 Paeten traveled to Tanzania to intern at a legal NGO, Tanzania Women Lawyer's Association, where she learned about the laws preventing young mothers from attending school. While at "TAWLA" she also saw first hand how many young mothers were left without resources due to their pregnancy.

So after returning from Tanzania, Paeten and the Board of Directors worked on incorporating M.A.R.B.L.E, getting 501c3 status, and creating this mission.

M.A.R.B.L.E is not just an organization aimed at helping young mothers in Tanzania, but is also our way of "hiding a marble" to remind people that love does exist.
