Meet The Board
Paeten Denning is the founder of M.A.R.B.L.E. Paeten studied Social Welfare and African Studies at the University of Kansas. Paeten studied Kiswahili, an East African language, for four years. Paeten earned a Fulbright-Hays Scholarship in 2013 where she went to Tanzania and returned again in 2017 where she interned at a local NGO that provided legal aid to women and children.
Blair Bowen is a member of the Board who focuses on PR and marketing. She went to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas where she studied strategic communications with an emphasis on Advertising and Public Relations. While at TCU Blair was apart of numerous student groups and spent countless hours volunteering and putting on philanthropy events. Blair has been apart of M.A.R.B.L.E since the very beginning when it was only an idea.
Andrew Vogel helped with the founding of M.A.R.B.L.E. Andrew worked for multiple years as a case-coordinator for a boy's home in Kansas which M.A.R.B.L.E bases its style of shelter from. Andrew went to the University of Kansas and studied Psychology and adolescent behavior. Andrew studied Kiswahili for a little over two years and has spent time in Tanzania.
Derek Depew attended Wentworth Military Academy and the University of Central Missouri and studied Psychology and Military Science. Derek is an officer in the U.S. Army and is currently attending the University of Kansas School of Law. After law school, Derek hopes to combine his military background and law degree to become an advocate for others.
Since the beginning, Derek has been an invaluable supporter of M.A.R.B.L.E
Ginger Brady is an attorney who graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Law. She currently works for Thomas Reuters as a Client Manager. On top of her legal work, Ginger is the mother of three amazing children. When she is not running her children to a dance competition, soccer practice, or school function Ginger spends her time advocating for cancer research, helping friends, or volunteering in her community.
Reed earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas, where he studied Accounting and Finance. In May of 2018, he will complete his Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. Upon graduation, Reed will work in the public accounting industry as a Tax Consultant.
Gracie Larcher is from Scottsdale, Arizona. Gracie studied education at the University of Kansas. While at KU, Gracie volunteered her time at various organizations, held leadership positions in her sorority, and participated in a variety of philanthropic events. Gracie now works at Kansas City International Academy where she teaches international students.
Lauren is from Kansas and studied at the University of Kansas. While at KU, Lauren held various leadership positions in different KU organizations. Lauren was also apart of student senate where she advocated for change. Lauren is apart of multiple honor societies and is finishing her studies at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Lauren will soon be earning her M.D.
Bander is from Saudi Arabia and came to Kansas to further his legal education at the University of Kansas. Bander has received his Masters of Law (LLM) and will soon receive his Doctorate of Juridicial Science (SJD). While at the University of Kansas Bander has been the on the executive board of numerous student organizations. When Bander is not studying for his SJD, he also tutors Arabic students, spends time with his children and friends, as well as student teaches about Islamic Law. Bander has spent time teaching not only in Kansas, but also in his home country.
